These Terms of Use are provided in English. By downloading or using TCMBOK, you agree to these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the TCMBOK application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App, including free and subscribed users.
Acceptable Use
You may use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Copy, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
- Reproduce, redistribute, or resell any content from the App without written permission
- Use the App to develop a competing product or service
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to extract content from the App
Community Rules and User Content
Community posts are for learning and are publicly readable without a subscription. Posting requires an active subscription verified by the service. New posts and substantive edits are reviewed before publication; while an edit is pending, the previously approved version remains visible. We may return, reject or hide content and may retain limited moderation records.
Do not post identifiable personal health information, request or provide personal diagnosis, prescriptions, treatment plans or emergency instructions, or engage in harassment or spam. Community posts are not medical advice. You may report content or block an author. Submit only content you have the right to share. You authorize us to store, review and display approved submissions solely to operate the community. You may edit or delete your posts; account closure removes community content except that a question with other approved replies may be replaced by a non-identifying deletion notice while those replies remain.
Subscription Terms
Certain features of the App require a paid subscription ("Premium"). Subscriptions are offered on a monthly basis and are processed through the Apple App Store.
- Payment is charged to your App Store account upon purchase confirmation
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings
- No refunds are issued for the unused portion of a subscription period, except where required by law
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice
All billing and payment disputes are handled directly by Apple under its store policies.
Intellectual Property
All content in the App — including text, illustrations, lesson materials, quiz questions, herbal descriptions, acupoint data, and AI-generated answers — is owned by or licensed to TCMBOK App and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
Medical Disclaimer
The App provides educational content about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for informational purposes only. Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any health-related decisions. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information you read in this App.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any content in the App.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TCMBOK App and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including Clerk (authentication), RevenueCat (subscription management), and DeepSeek AI (AI Guide). Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service providers.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
